Towards the end of a world tour including packed to the max RVS in the USA, wild Pretoria crowds, and the crooked bushveld, power house band C-Mon and Kypski are showing no signs of surrender. Just before a  blood pumping, electric show at Oppikoppi, we speak to keyboardist Jori about the highs and lows of touring, reverb in the Morrocan desert, and the genre-bending talent of C-Mon and Kypski.

How did this year’s Oppikoppi experience differ from the last one?

Well, there’s an extra stage now. That’s different. And there’s a little bit of grass in front of the stage there. Last time it was a great experience, when it was all new. Now we know what to expect. It’s just something else. We don’t play festivals like this in Holland.

How are your festivals different?

They’re bigger. Some are. There’s two really big festivals in Holland. And that’s where everybody goes. It’s the same vibe as here. It doesn’t matter who’s playing, you just go there. One festival, Lowlands, sold out when only…
